When I wrote this title, I was thinking of a Brent Faiyaz song. What I’m writing about has nothing to do with any of that, though.
The four of us only knew each other for one month, yet it felt so much longer. We met at a coffee shop with maybe 40 other people. We were strangers amongst an even larger group of strangers, then we exchanged numbers and made plans for karaoke.

On July 18, I went to one of the spots that’s said to have some of the best margaritas in SATX– La Gloria in the Pearl. I went alone because I had no one to go with me, but I was really determined to get a margarita before I leave here. As I sat there sipping my margarita and the minutes went by, I realized something. I was sick of my solo explorations of this town. It wasn’t fun anymore. I felt let down by all the people (3 in particular) who had recommended these places to me and were now ghosting me or straight up ignoring me to my face. So I decided once I got home, this would be my last solo outing while I’m here.
