I recently brought Violet Open Mic back this past Thursday. For those who don’t know, it’s my weekly poetry and vibes space I host every Thursday on Twitter. I was planning on posting this the day before, but it didn’t quite work out that way, so I’m announcing my revamp now.

When I started writing this post, it was gonna be a full on rant, but I took some time to reflect and decided I could either be a shell of a person, miserable and broken, OR I could appreciate the good and positive experiences and make this a moment of gratitude.

One month, one month ONLY?

When I wrote this title, I was thinking of a Brent Faiyaz song. What I’m writing about has nothing to do with any of that, though.

The four of us only knew each other for one month, yet it felt so much longer. We met at a coffee shop with maybe 40 other people. We were strangers amongst an even larger group of strangers, then we exchanged numbers and made plans for karaoke.
