A poem about the tears and anxiety weekends alone brought me during my time figuring how to be an adult on my own in San Antonio. I originally wrote this in July 2021.

Just an update, I’m no longer crying every weekend lol.

Rae’s Violet San Antonio Adventures III: Margaritas Alone

On July 18, I went to one of the spots that’s said to have some of the best margaritas in SATX– La Gloria in the Pearl. I went alone because I had no one to go with me, but I was really determined to get a margarita before I leave here. As I sat there sipping my margarita and the minutes went by, I realized something. I was sick of my solo explorations of this town. It wasn’t fun anymore. I felt let down by all the people (3 in particular) who had recommended these places to me and were now ghosting me or straight up ignoring me to my face. So I decided once I got home, this would be my last solo outing while I’m here.
