She’s Strange

A Poem

“She’s weird!”

I know

I know that I’m weird

But whats more peculiar

Is that she won’t say it to my face

But in a space where the walls

Are thin

And the halls

Are close

“She’s weird!”

I heard her, late at night

Right outside the door

Over the phone to her mom

A friend

I don’t know

In a lower voice than anything else said

And as she said

“She’s weird”

I pulled the cover further over my head

Pretending to be in the sleep she had disturbed

Door clumsily unlocked, making a return through the entrance
