Sour Patch Shots

Sour Patch Kids are my favorite candy. I also like flavored drinks. So of course turning my favorite candy into a flavored drink sounds like a good time to me!

One day, sometime ago, I was scrolling Pinterest and saw some Sour Patch drink concoctions. Ever since, it has been my dream to have my own Sour Patch drinks! It took me so long for obvious reasons (age, ingredients, laziness, etc.) But I finally did it this summer.

I bought some Seagrams™️ vodka and a giant bag of Sour Patch Kids and got to work. It doesn’t take on many ingredients or tools. I’ll leave the recipe below.

I decided to start with 2 Sour Patch flavors—blue raspberry and strawberry(?)— and separate them into a bowl. Then, I got two mason jars and put the blue in one jar, red in the other.

I put about 2 1/2 – 3 cups of vodka in each jar. Then I closed them tight, shook them, and left them in the fridge for 3 days.

On the 3rd day I gathered tall glass lemonade bottles to transfer the liquids into at the end. I used a funnel to separate the gummies from the final product. Once I got all the gummies into the funnel, I pushed them down gently to strain out anymore liquid.

I got two brightly colored Sour Patch vodkas—but I didnt take pics! You might like to know how they tasted, huh? Well, the blue one was my favorite1 It tastes just like the blue raspberry one!

The red one, however, was not as delicious as the candy. It tasted like cough syrup, to be honest. It pairs best with pink lemonade. Ive recently made a lemon flavored one, and it is A1.

  • 6 cups of vodka (3 per flavor)
  • 2 cups of Sour Patch Kid flavors of your choice
  • Mason jars
  • Glass/ recyclable bottles
  • Funnel
